
When you hear the words sustainable city, what comes to mind? Years ago, news channels were broadcasting that by the year 2030, two thirds of the world’s population could possibly be city dwellers. Two thirds! Thanks to Sustain Lane, a “people- powered sustainability guide” some of the answers of just how sustainable your city is have been answered.
What types of research was done? A close look at city transit, energy use, water quality and usage, air quality, green building, traffic congestion, land use, housing availability and government initiatives were all measured and recorded.

The front runners, Portland, OR, San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA. And a surprising 50th place goes to Mesa, AZ.
