We all know we have to do it, but many of us out there don’t even know how. To make their bed that is. Thanks to an old friend Jill, a possible expert on bed making, A Designed Life has the tips to help you get those prime zzzz’s.
First, assuming you have both a fitted and flat sheet (it can be done with two flat sheets too) pull the fitted sheet tight over your mattress.
Second, take your flat sheet and layout onto mattress. If you are using a patterned set, be sure to face the pattern down (it will make sense later, I promise). Once you have smoothed out all the wrinkles, tuck the bottom of the sheet under the mattress at the foot of the bed. Be sure the top of the sheet lines up with the head of the mattress.
Thirdly, take the sides of the sheet and fold under mattress. You can either leave the corner at a straight vertical tuck (pictured above), or for extra pizzazz, create an angled tuck. Now you have “hospital corners”.
The same steps can be done for the blankets.
Next, take that sheet and blankets and fold back, and just like that your patterned sheets are now on view! Be sure to tuck in any loose ends.
Update: This morning after climbing out of bed, I decided to take my own advice and make the bed as listed above. I have never seen my bed look more “made” then ever, and yes, you can bounce a quarter off it!
