Etsy Top 3 Tuesday

Its Tuesday and you know what that means!  Etsy Top 3 Tuesday!

First up is a little shop filled with adorable little sketches. Flapper Doodle, run by artist Kate Gabrielle from New Jersey, is loaded with little doodles of “Eloise and Ramona” out on the town and strutting their stuff.  Be sure to check out her whole collection, they are darling and if you are crunching your pennies these days, don’t fret, Kim is offering a fantastic little deal.  Now until 1/21, all her 4×6 mini doodles are only $1!  So please browse and buy… a few of these little guys would make a darling little collection.  Just saying! And check out Kate’s blog to stay up to date on all things Eloise.

Next up is the talented Geninne from Geninne’s Art Store.  Now, Geninne is no stranger here on the blog, her work was also featured here, as well as this totally helpful video she shot on making a rubber stamp.  Can I just say, after watching the video, it inspired me to start making my own!  Anyway, her shop is just filled to the brim with colorful images that are just begging to make a new home for your walls.  And do check out her blog for amazing inspiration and shots from her hometown in Mexico City.

And rounding out what seemed to be an all art Tuesday is Yellena‘s colorful shop.  You know me and my love for all things color, Yellena has an amazing eye for detail and patterns.  Organic and whimsical shapes must fill her brain to get these little masterpieces.  And she doesn’t stop at prints and paintings.  Check out her amazing light fixtures for School House Electric, they are divine!

I might just have to snatch up “Spore” (above right).  I seriously heart it.

A step back in time

Happy Friday! A few days ago the husband pointed me in the direction of a vintage film from San Francisco that I just had to share! Jeff Altman, an aspiring film colorist inherited amazing 16mm Kodachrome films from his grandparents that are so lovely to watch, they just seep to take you back in time. The first is of his grandparents traveling through San Francisco circa 1958. From the clothing to the cars (oh the cars!) everything is so visually stunning, and for the most part, the city still looks relatively the same. And I couldn’t just stop at one film, they also shot footage at Disneyland in 1956, just two years after the parks opening. Altman’s Grandmother is even shown meeting Walt Disney himself at the park!  It is so fun to see how it has changed over the years, although I wish it stayed true to its beginnings instead of morphing into the mega corporation it is today.  Oh how I love watching home movies, they take you to a time that just seemed so pleasant and interesting!

A modern touch

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Its the middle of the week, whew, what a week I have had!  After being stuck in a drab DMV yesterday for 3 hours just to change my last name, I wanted to give my eyes a break and check out Honey Interiors, a fab little firm out of L.A.  Owner and designer Tamara Kaye-Honey combines high end and cost effective pieces to bring a room together, and boy does she have a thing for color!  With a modern eye, Tamara creates lovely spaces mixing traditional items, textures, colors and lighting giving a warm and glowing feel to all her spaces. Love it.

Etsy Top 3 Tuesday

Its Tuesday and you know what that means, my top 3 etsy shops for the week!

First up is the beautiful photography from Irene Suchocki, an amazingly talented photographer.  Irene plays with a variety of techniques to create these amazing shots, and her attention to detail is just lovely.  Subdued colors mixed with bright pops of contrasting hues make me swoon over every piece, that little Twitter piece is just darling!  And now until January 15th, Irene is offering a 25% off on selected prints!!  Not looking for art for the walls?  She also has charming Valentines Day cards available, its never too early to start collecting goodies for your loved one!

Nest up are the adorable creations from Lila Frances out of Tennessee.  I don’t know of any other way to discribe these little guys other then adorable.  Clearly made with love, this little shop provides customizable wire hangers (even as I type that I think of Mommy Dearest and her no wire hanger talk!) that are perfect for a little gift or make for a great dress photo on your wedding day.  And that heart, Valentines day, that’s all I’m saying.  There is currently a waiting list for these lovelies, so be sure to stop by and order yours today!

Rounding out this week is the beautiful views from GBrosseau Photo.  Not only is this shop filled with sweet and charming shots, most are of subjects we take for granted like motels, lakes and old architecture.  Sure we see it everyday, but do you really look at it?  I think I love it all!  And did I mention the shop is offering free shipping!  Do check out the artists Flickr photostream, absolutely gorgeous.
