Time for some Tumblr Thursday inspiration don’t you think?  Perhaps its the lack of sunshine here in my little corner of the globe, but bright pops of color seem to be the running theme this week… although isn’t it pretty much there every week!?  Anyway, the work week is almost over and I don’t know about you, but I just want to escape into some of these shots.  That little orange chair there, me want.

All photos from Tumblr, please click each photo for the link and credit.

Who said shoes have to be put away in a dark and gloomy closet!  Loving these little guys on a little shelf, besides for as much we us gals pay for footwear, we better treat them like art!

Happy Thursday!

Always on the look out for amazing photographers, I stumbled upon Rachel Smith‘s interior portfolio, and let’s just say, she takes amazing shots.  Unfortunately I do not know who created these stunning interiors, but at least we can still gush about the photos!

The first group is the “Swedish Summerhouse“.  First off, a summer house!?  I would live here all year long!  Here the design is kept clean and fresh with the use of stark white staple pieces and pops of color throughout.  And that fireplace, wow.

Next up is the creative “Designer’s Home“.  I simply must have that bookcase, and that added built in chair and side table, genius.  A muted color palette, low furniture and raw materials were used to create this modern environment.

Next up is the beauty of “Eero Aarino’s home“.  Can I just say if I had an office like that I would get way more done!  Beautiful views, bright whites and signature Eero pieces are the focal points in this home.  And of course another remarkable fireplace. makes me wish I was curled up with a book.

Moving along to the “Ladbroke Grove Home“, all I can say is, can I move in?  With open spaces and  concrete floors (oh how I absolutely love concrete in homes!!!) this modern interior has the feel of a loft yet keeps it family friendly with the addition of soft surfaces and a soothing color palette.  And I bet the kid that lives there gets to ride that little car all over this place!  The furniture may be more on the retro side, but the new materials and patterns keep this home looking new.

The “Hackney Home” has so much going on I don’t know where to start!  The bathroom, well, what girl doesn’t want to soak under a glamourous chandelier?  Always a fan of small vignettes, this house is filled with little areas to please.  From pops of color to textured walls to fragrant additions, this place will surely please all your senses!

And finally the “Stockwell Home“.  Mixing in new, brighter colors with traditional flair really give this home an interesting look.  That fireplace in the bedroom is heavy and detailed, the addition of the softer blues above is a great way of giving the eye a “place to rest” with so much going on.  And check out that hovering toilet tank on the right!

I just discovered the loveliness of Laduree and wow, yet another reason I must go to Europe!  Each salon takes on a very whimsical yet sophisticated look thanks to owner Francis Holder.  The goal was to create a space that was reminiscent of the historic Persian parlors of the late 1800s.  The deep woods and lush colors really make it an experience and lets not forget the macaroons!  Amazing.  The displays are simply gorgeous and incredibly inviting… oh how I wish I was a girl in Paris.

This week I thought I would bring you a Tumblr Thursday geared toward stylized home decor.  What ever you personal style may be, we can always use a little inspiration to make our place even more unique.  I am always asked what my personal style is, and well, I can’t live without color, and lots of it.  I love mixing traditional ideas and pieces with very modern and bold colors (my current fav is teal and orange!), as well as keeping things light and airy with a lot of whites.  So please, take in the color and ideas and enjoy!

Mo Man Tai

If your a frequent reader, first, thanks, second, you know of my fascination with mixing modern and traditional elements to create an amazing space.  And boy to I have a perfect example of it today!  Designed by Mo Man Tai‘s Ulrike Jurkles and Roel van Hove of Etsprit, these tables are simply stunning.  Made using recycled tables, Ulrike created a lacy design and had it etched into stainless steel to create a modern touch to an ordinary tabletop.  I fell in love with the tables, until I started perusing her products, I will take one of everything!  The Luminaire Travia, below is a perfect way to add a touch of detail and give off light in some amazing patterns.  In addition to all the etched work, Mo Man Tai (which is Cantonese for No Problem!) has also created a series of canvas collages.  Meant to bring affordable artwork to everyone, these guys come in several sizes and are in  limited circulation only.  For more info, be sure to check out their site.
