Happy Wednesday everyone!  Its the middle of the week, whew, what a week I have had!  After being stuck in a drab DMV yesterday for 3 hours just to change my last name, I wanted to give my eyes a break and check out Honey Interiors, a fab little firm out of L.A.  Owner and designer Tamara Kaye-Honey combines high end and cost effective pieces to bring a room together, and boy does she have a thing for color!  With a modern eye, Tamara creates lovely spaces mixing traditional items, textures, colors and lighting giving a warm and glowing feel to all her spaces. Love it.

Always on the look out for amazing photographers, I stumbled upon Rachel Smith‘s interior portfolio, and let’s just say, she takes amazing shots.  Unfortunately I do not know who created these stunning interiors, but at least we can still gush about the photos!

The first group is the “Swedish Summerhouse“.  First off, a summer house!?  I would live here all year long!  Here the design is kept clean and fresh with the use of stark white staple pieces and pops of color throughout.  And that fireplace, wow.

Next up is the creative “Designer’s Home“.  I simply must have that bookcase, and that added built in chair and side table, genius.  A muted color palette, low furniture and raw materials were used to create this modern environment.

Next up is the beauty of “Eero Aarino’s home“.  Can I just say if I had an office like that I would get way more done!  Beautiful views, bright whites and signature Eero pieces are the focal points in this home.  And of course another remarkable fireplace. makes me wish I was curled up with a book.

Moving along to the “Ladbroke Grove Home“, all I can say is, can I move in?  With open spaces and  concrete floors (oh how I absolutely love concrete in homes!!!) this modern interior has the feel of a loft yet keeps it family friendly with the addition of soft surfaces and a soothing color palette.  And I bet the kid that lives there gets to ride that little car all over this place!  The furniture may be more on the retro side, but the new materials and patterns keep this home looking new.

The “Hackney Home” has so much going on I don’t know where to start!  The bathroom, well, what girl doesn’t want to soak under a glamourous chandelier?  Always a fan of small vignettes, this house is filled with little areas to please.  From pops of color to textured walls to fragrant additions, this place will surely please all your senses!

And finally the “Stockwell Home“.  Mixing in new, brighter colors with traditional flair really give this home an interesting look.  That fireplace in the bedroom is heavy and detailed, the addition of the softer blues above is a great way of giving the eye a “place to rest” with so much going on.  And check out that hovering toilet tank on the right!

For most of the world, a corporate office is where you spend most of your waking hours yet the design is almost always the same; white/beige walls, dark carpet and a few “art” pieces on the wall.  Art being used loosely.  And its everywhere, even the art college I went to, grey carpet, beige walls and white boards… the perfect environment to be creative.  Yeah right.  So when I stumbled upon architects Selgas Cano from Madrid, my mouth literally dropped.  Located in what seems to be a wooded area, the office is actually submerged into the ground with floor to ceiling windows along the entire side.  Creating a tube like working environment, workers were given amazing views as well as an amazingly creative design.  And the colors!  I love how they broke up the “working” area into a white minimalist area while all the storage areas are brightly colored, making it perfect for getting your inspiration while still having the blank slate to create.  And with views like they have, Im sure this firm is constantly coming up with amazing spaces!  To see more photos of the Selgas Cano office, check out photographer Iwan Baan’s portfolio.  What I would do to work in a place like this!!

I get such inspiration from looking at interiors and fashion, and I am loving the design from Coburn Architecture out of NY.  With a touch of modern, some bold color, and storage to dream about, the guysand gals over at CA sure know what’s going on.

I just love the idea of sliding doors that are hung from the top.

One organized kids room!  Such a good idea using chalk board paint on the walls, and the colors are perfect, kid and adult friendly.

With the modern railings, exposed beams, a wall of storage and a dog, I would live here in a heart beat!

Two words:  Dorm Room.  Yeah, you read that right, this dorm room that has been very tastefully put together is occupied by Maximilian Sinsteaden from Drew University in Madison New Jersey.  Im not even going to try to pretend not to be jealous, this is by far the best looking room I have ever seen in a dorm.  Most items are hand me downs and thrift shop finds, while others are from Charlotte Moss, Sinsteaden’s boss.  And to top it all off, he’s has had no formal design training and is still in his senior year!  I was lucky in my dorm to be able to get a piece of tape to work on my cinder block walls!
